Our FM team is currently engaged in providing key project stakeholders with FM expertise advising on all aspects of the Building Design, Plant & Equipment Selection and Maintainability

Our reviews of design, material specifications and project documentation ensures the asset can be efficiently maintained using quality plant and equipment and providing effective operating solutions and lower whole of life costs

In the early stages, this process has already identified savings of $1.5m and improved the future asset lifecycles of plant and equipment.  Our FM Team has also been able to provide a Capital & Operational Expenditure Plan of the 40 year lease model.

Lessons learned in delivering this project include:

  • The Plant & Equipment Selection process is critical to the overall success of the project post construction incl accessibility etc
  • Balancing Capex & Opex cost modelling provides better Whole of Life solution and cost advantages
  • Supports the PM team & other key stakeholders in ensuring the Builder delivers to specification
  • FM’s ability to take a Fit for Purpose approach has been well received in the design stage by key stakeholders
  • Creating a Building Operation Plan through the D&C Phase provides clarity on how the building will function post handover
  • FM taking a Partnership approach with Design Architects, Construction and the Customer has delivers seamless outcomes
